It's Caterpillar season around here and for J and me it's like Christmas every day!! There are dozens of these guys falling from the trees and crawling all over everything in our yard. Justin will spend his afternoons rescuing them from the ground and putting them into the trees and bushes and I will spend my afternoons photographing it all... It's the first sign for us that summer is truly here :)

Could it be that your tent caterpillars are leaving the trees and making their way looking for good places to spin their cocoons?
